Appointments
Patients are seen by appointment only, which can be booked by calling (646) 962-2285 for either the New York City or Westchester County offices.
If you must cancel please provide us with at least 24 hours notice or your account will be charged for the visit. This courtesy allows us to accommodate another patient.
Emergencies
We provide 24-hour, 7-day emergency call to all our patients of record. In case of an emergency, our answering service will promptly forward your call to the appropriate physician, who will respond as quickly as possible. Do not try use this website or any e-mail to contact Dr. Sclafani or his staff in the case of an emergency.
Fees, Payment & Insurance
To reduce the cost of billing, we request payment in full at the time of your visit. All elective cosmetic procedures must be paid in advance. Our practice accepts VISA, MasterCard and American Express. Please be certain to provide the office with all of the referral and authorization forms required by your insurance company prior to, or at the time of, your visit. If these are not provided, you will be expected to pay in full for the visit.
Several components make up the final cost of facial plastic surgery that the patient must pay. Purely cosmetic procedures are not covered by commercial insurers. For these procedures, the patient is responsible for the surgeon's fee, the facility fee (covering the use of the operating room, the nursing staff, and medications on the day of the surgery), the anesthesiologist's fees (if more than just "local" anesthesia, like Novocain, is needed) and the cost of post-operative medications. Dr. Sclafani's fees cover all routine post-operative care for one year after surgery. Some facilities include the anesthesiologist's fees; Dr. Sclafani and his staff can give you a good estimate on these costs.
If a functional procedure (such as a septoplasty, to improve breathing) is being performed in addition to the cosmetic surgery, your insurance plan may cover the costs of this procedure (only), as well as some of the facility charges. Again, Dr. Sclafani's staff can assist you in defining your financial responsibility.
All elective surgery fees must be paid in advance in the form of cash, credit card or bank check.
Dr. Sclafani's exact fees for your surgery and approximate hospital and anesthesia costs (when appropriate) will be provided. As mentioned elsewhere, patients often require procedures other than those they thought, and it is not possible to estimate costs without examining the patient. The best way to determine the costs of surgery is to schedule a cosmetic consultation with Dr. Sclafani.
